- 1 pound thin sliced bacon
- 2 cups brown sugar
½ cup maple syrup or corn syrup
- 3 Tablespoons
- Chipotle powder
- ½ cup Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce
- ½ cup Sweet Baby Ray Hickory & Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce
Preheat grill to medium, approx. 300F/148C prepared for indirect grilling.
Lay the bacon slices on a disposable perforated aluminum pan. Brush each slice with maple syrup/corn syrup.
Sprinkle slices of bacon generously with brown sugar, then chipotle powder.
Grill for 1 hour indirect until bacon has absorbed brown sugar and is crispy.
Cool on a wire rack until the bacon surface is dry. Keep in an airtight container in between layers of parchment paper.
Use within 1 week.
Pig Candy can be added to cookies, icing, ice cream and more sweet treats.
Be careful when dealing with bacon and the grill. You can place a disposable pan filled with 1 inch of water underneath the bacon to catch drippings. Always know where your fire extinguisher is and do not leave your grill unattended.
